Susannah Tymms established her consultancy in March 2010, specialising in policy and regulatory research, analysis, critical review and advice for the agriculture, biotechnology and food industries. Her clients include government, non-government and private sector agencies.
Prior to this, she worked for the Victorian Government in both the Department of Primary Industries and the Department of Premier and Cabinet, briefing four Ministers for Agriculture and the Victorian Premier. Initially engaged as an environmental/horticultural production scientist (1995-1999), she moved into communications when biotechnology was at the height of its controversy (1999-2000). From there she developed her deep expertise in agriculture policy, providing advice in the areas of agriculture, forestry, natural resources, biotechnology, food and health (2000-2010).
Over nearly twenty years, Susannah has developed expertise in R&D strategy development and evaluation, regulatory reform, designing new government initiatives, representation at both statutory board level and international UN delegation level, highly political and visible government reviews, rigorous policy research and evidence-based analysis, Cabinet processes, COAG processes and central agency budget processes.

- Master of Science (La Trobe University) 2001
She is married with three children and currently lives in Melbourne, Australia. Susannah is fond of literature and languages; she has extensively studied French, German and Spanish and is currently acquiring Arabic. From 2011-2013 she served on the Red Hill Primary School Board in Canberra. She is currently President of the Ashburton Primary School Council, Melbourne.
